Our Open House
Our First Open House was a smash hit. On November 29, St. Elizabeth's opened its doors to approximately 80 visitors, both prospective families and friends of St. Elizabeth's School. Our faculty, staff, board members and parent volunteers were thrilled to spread the news of St. Elizabeth's: a hidden gem in Denver. Our visitors shared in this excitement as they toured our beautiful facility and received valuable information about becoming a part of our community.
Did you miss this Open House? Don't worry. Due to the increasing interest in St. Elizabeth's School, we will host a second Open House on Thursday, February 7, 2008.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day
On November 21st St. Elizabeth's hosted its first annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day event. In anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday, we were eager to bring the St. Elizabeth's extended family together to celebrate the acheivements thus far of our fabulous Kindergartners. Our grandparents and special friends had a wonderful time experiencing a day in the life of their favorite kindergartner as they attended chapel and visited homeroom, music, art, and Spanish classes and met the teachers.

It’s been a long time coming, but we finally opened a school, and not just any school, but a very special one! There are photos to see here and you’ll see more when we tour the school afterwards. A smooth and exciting first day of school doesn’t just happen without a lot of planning and preparations; kudos to everyone who worked so hard and prepared so well. It could not have been better.
Forty-six faculty, students and family members gathered for our first annual Cookout on Thursday, August 30th in the school playground. It was a huge success! We had hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, Izzi cold drinks, ice cream and cake, all either donated or sold at cost. Many thanks to our volunteers: John Taylor, Ann Luke, and Eric Frame. Coleman Natural Meats furnished the all-natural beef dogs and burgers at cost. Ann and Eric did all the shopping and set up, which was tremendously helpful while we attended to the school start-up. Sue Johanning delivered a large and delicious cake with a “school book” icing and “Welcome to St. Elizabeth’s

Open the Door Campaign
To help make the dream of St. Elizabeth’s School become a reality we have embarked upon a $1.2 million campaign, which will provide financial stability to the organization for years to come. These funds will provide two years of support during our developmental year (‘06-‘07) and for the first year of operations (‘07-‘08). Once the doors are opened, St. Elizabeth‘s will enroll children from kindergarten fifth grade, and then sixth - eighth grade.
Through the efforts of individuals, Episcopal churches, foundations, professional corporations and businesses, Denver’s children will finally have the opportunity to attend an urban Episcopal school, focusing on academics, choral singing, music and the visual arts. These are exciting times!
The first years of creating a new school are especially challenging. If you believe our school has value, now is the time to help! Your contributions will provide a sound foundation for our students, faculty, staff and volunteers. A school is vibrant and full of life when the halls, classrooms and playground are filled with bustling, bright and enthusiastic children. However, the quality of those years depends upon our ability to plan, organize and develop an excellent and stimulating program that fulfills St. Elizabeth’s mission. And this is why your help is needed now. Your generous support will cover all operational expenses for two years, including student sponsorships for approximately one-half of our students.
